Hylocereus triangularis

The fruit is a globose berry of 8 – 15 cm in length and 6 – 10 in diameter, its exocarp of yellow tonalities, is covered by foliaceous scales or bracts distributed helically, which are called mammillas. The fruit contains captin, which works as a cardiac tonic and nerve stimulant, in addition to fighting gastritis; the seed has oil that has a laxative effect.
